Calvary Chapel '08
Fall Picnic

On Saturday, October 4th the church folks met at the Cape May County Park for the annual church picnic.  The food was great!  And our hamburger and hot dog "chef" did an excellent job!  What a joy it was to spend time with our brothers and sisters in Christ.  Fellowship is so important, and we sure did have lots of it on Saturday. 

One of the highlights of the annual picnic is the horseshoe throwing competition.  With 6 teams participating, the competition was very interesting!  We had several "ringers" as well as "wild pitches."  Here are some photo's of the games...

Calvary Chapel Ladies Retreat

Once again the Cape May Calvary Chapel ladies joined York CC ladies for their annual retreat in Lancaster, PA.  We stayed at the Eden Resort Inn which we thoroughly enjoy.

 Meef Lawson was our speaker,
she is Tricia's mother.  Both
of them are Calvary Chapel
pastor's wives.  She flew in
from California for the second
time to speak for us.

The entire retreat was based on
"Climbing the Mountain &
Reaching the Summit"

There was an ongoing skit before
and after each lesson. lt gave us
a picture of a hiker who was over burdened by the amount of
"weights" that she chose to carry.
Slowly she was able to shed
these burdens and feel the
freedom that Jesus Christ offers
us as HE takes on the sin and the
weights that burden us down.

We had awesome times of worship and times of reflection and just
crying out to Jesus to take the burdens we had been carrying,
away from us.

Of course we also did lots of

eating.... shopping...

laughing... & more eating!!!

We are looking forward to next years retreat already!
